Hello!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone and also, happy new music Tuesday!!

This week we have new releases from the following artists

1. The Explorers Club – Grand Hotel; this group is based out of South Carolina and names the Beach Boys as a huge influence. If you like the old surf sound, definitely check them out. They were also featured on How I Met Your Mother (my favorite show)

2. Band of Skulls- Sweet Sour; I just recently downloaded one of their songs free from iTunes and listen to them quite frequently on SiriusXM’s AltNation. A cool band out of England, this is a follow up from their last full LP, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey

3. Eisley- Deep Space; Perhaps a blast from your high school past, the family band is back! Eisley is still making records and going strong after first forming in 1997. Maybe it’s true that the family that rocks together, stays together.

4. Amos Lee- As The Crow Flies; According to his website this is, “a six- song collection of previously unreleased material from the Mission Bell sessions” Amos, a singer-songwriter, is very soulful and folk sounding. I think this would be a great album to check out!

Have a great one everybody!!

Hey La Rockers!

Happy Monday:)I hope you guys had a great weekend. Viva La Rock definitely had an eventful weekend with tons of fun Grammy parties. First stop was the Pepsi party that was held at the Carondelet in L.A. Next on the agenda was the OK! Magazine party held at Tru Hollywood, which was a crazy amount of fun! There were performances by Pia Toscano and Flo Rida. Flo Rida was my personal favorite of the night because he put on one heck of a performance, showing the crowed the reason why he is number one in the world right now. There were also plenty of Glee star sightings that made for an even more gleeful night;) The main celebration of the whole weekend was of course the 54th annual Grammy Awards. All I can say about the awards is ADELE, ADELE ADELE! She definitely did an amazing job and won every single category she was nominated for. Its safe to say that was no surprise! Adele’s performance and Jennifer Hudson tribute to Whitney Houston were my personal highlights. What were your favorite performances? Overall, I think its safe to say last night was Adele’s night and rightfully so!!

It’s finally Friday, and this weekend is an exciting one for music! On Sunday it is music’s biggest night…the 54th Grammy Awards!

This year performers include Adele, Chris Brown, Kelly Clarkson and Jason Aldean, Coldplay and Rihanna, Foo Fighters, Nicki Minaj, The Beach Boys with Foster the People and Maroon 5, Katy Perry, and even a dance/electronica segment with DeadMau5 and David Guetta, which I am personally excited for!

Not only do I love watching all of the performances, but checking out all the red carpet fashion is fun too. So grab some friends and tune in!

Show starts at 8/7c with host LL Cool J. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Happy Thursday Rockers! :)

With only a few days until Valentines Day, I wanted to share with you some concerts that will be in LA that day! I know that for some, Valentine’s is an extra lovey dovey day while, for others, couples in love make you have an extra eye roll or two on that day.

That in mind, I thought these were a few great concerts you could see with that special someone or your fellow singletons. Either way you have a great time!

First, Robin Thicke will be playing at Club Nokia. I will personally be there, pretending that he is singing to me and me alone (serious crush alert)

Next up, Colbie Caillat will be playing at the Fred Kavli Theater in Thousand Oaks.

Also, Ms. Lauryn Hill will be playing at the Palladium! Heads up, if you have Groupon for LA they sent an email for discounted tickets. Too bad I already have Robin tickets, otherwise I would’ve gone to this for sure!!

I hope this helps you find some last minute and fun plans. And remember, Valentines Day is to celebrate all of the people, pets, crushes, that you love! Have fun with it :)

Any Little Monsters out there?

It is an exciting day for Lady GaGa fans because she is announcing the dates of her Born This Way Ball! The Mother Monster is known for putting on quite the performance, and I am sure this tour will be nothing less. She has only announced the first 11 dates of the tour which kicks off on April 27 in Seoul, South Korea, and will continue into 2013. Keep a look out on her twitter and official site for the announcement of more dates, and remember you were Born This Way Baby!

TUESDAY!

It is Tuesday and do you know what that means? It’s new release day!

Here’s whats out today and available for your ears to hear :)

Which are you the most excited to hear? Or maybe there’s a different album on the top of your list?
I am a huge Beatles fan but I just might be more excited for The Fray…hmmm. Either way, I will definitely be listening to both!

Have a great day!

Afternoon all!
Check out this video from K’Naan for his song “Better” It is a great video because all of the lyrics are posted. Feel like you’ve heard the riff before? That’s because he samples Coldplay’s song “Lost” :)

We are definitely playing this song in the office and we are loving it. Hope you do too!

til next time,
Viva Mad

Viva La Rock was in Indianapolis for the Super bowl festivities and it was insane amounts of fun. We attended The GQ/La Coste party where LL Cool J took to the stage. Then at the Rolling Stones party we watched Lupe Fiasco, Cobra Starship and Gym Class Heroes rock the stage. We also had the chance to catch up with our good friend Gabe Saporta! Hope you guys had as much fun as we did : )

Happy Monday La Rocker:)

Wow, What a weekend!! Can I just start by saying that Madonna totally killed the half time show and made me love her that much more! Another exciting event that took place this weekend was that I went and saw the boy band, The Wanted, this Saturday night at Cherry Pop in L.A. The boys did an amazing job and totally had the crowd going crazy over them. They performed their hit singles, Lightning and Glad You Came. The boys are currently in the U.S till the end of this week and have been on a promotional tour since mid January. They are definitely making a huge splash because they have already appeared on, “The Ellen Show,” “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” “Chelsea Lately,” and now their hit single is set to feature on an episode of Glee!!The boys are performing atThe Roxy this Wednesday but the show is sold out!! Make sure you guys tune into to 102.7 KIISfm tonight @8pm and hear the boys with Jojo on the Radio. You can also follow the boys on twitter @thewanted

Have a great day ya’ll:)

SuperBowl Ads!

I like watching the game as much as the next gal, however…i LOVE the commercials! (sometimes more than the game itself) I found a few of the ads that we will be seeing later on today and I wanted to share them with you. My personal favorite of the bunch is the Honda one because I absolutely love Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, just ask my friends. Happy Superbowl Day! Eat, drink and be merry xox, madalyn

Happy Saturdays La Rockers;)!!!

Tomorrow is the ultimate! It’s SUPERBOWL time☺ I hope your getting ready for an amazing game, fantastic commercials and my fav. the half time show. This year I’m sure you’re all aware that the Queen of pop is performing. I cannot wait, I’ve always been a HUGE Madonna fan since forever and this is the icing on the cake! She is expected to perform her new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin,” which features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. The single is from her forthcoming album called, ‘MDNA,’ which is set for released on March 26th but the album is already number 1 on itunes!!! Check out her new music video and I hope you like the single as much as I do!!!

Good Morning La Rockers and Happy Friday!

I’m sure a lot of you have noticed this trend, because celebrities from Rachel Bilson, Drew Barrymore, and Jessica Biel have all been seen with the ombre! Whether you think it is cute, or that it looks like you need your roots done ASAP, Krystal and I are totally feeling this trend and showed up to work with ombre hairstyles of our own. If you are thinking about hopping on the bandwagon, check out this blog post all about the ombre. You can ask questions and see tons of examples and pictures. You can even go super bold and try adding a color to your hair! Take a look here!

happy Thursday pals!

I hope you are all having a good day :) I am a bit sleepy thanks to a late night and an 8am class but it was WORTH IT. Why, do you ask?

I went and saw Angels & Airwaves play in San Diego! Yes, I had to drive from LA to SD but I would do it again tonight and go to another class at 8AM tomorrow if I could! They were GREAT.

Their album, Love Part 2, was released on 11/11/11 and they played songs from that album and from their other albums: Love, I-Empire and We Don’t Need to Whisper.

I’ve been a big Blink and AvA fan so to see either play live is always a treat. If you ever get the opportunity to see AvA play, do not pass it up.

They have a show tonight in Pomona with special guests Le Blorr.
Unfortunately for me, the show is sold out.

Have a great afternoon!
xoxo, Madalyn
